Our Program, Procedure & Payment
If you have decided to make one of our puppies a family member, and want to reserve an available puppy, or be added to a future wait list, you may make a deposit of 250.00 by Venmo or Zelle once you’ve filled out our Adoption Application. Any fees incurred by electronic payment companies will be added to your invoice. Please note parents’ names of your two favorite litters in the space provided, or puppy. Deposits are non-refundable for any reason. If you have made a deposit to be placed on an upcoming reservation list, please understand a commitment to choosing us as your breeder. Please avoid putting deposits down with multiple breeders. We commit hours and hours (and sometimes weeks) of valuable time visiting with potential customers, only for them to back out on selection day at the last minute. We understand that some life situations are unpredictable. You may transfer your deposit to a future litter or puppy that works out better for you at any time!
Puppy selection is scheduled when the puppies are four weeks old. (Some litters are first come first serve and there will be no waiting list.) We will have two photo shoots and continue to post videos and additional photos until pups go home. We do not do Facetime calls. We will start at the top of the reserve list and contact you when it’s your turn to choose. You may let us know your favorite pups, and we will visit about temperament, size and coat quality at that time, not sooner. We will also take additional photos comparing your favorites, if you like. We will let you know ahead what time your selection spot is ahead of time.
We DO NOT accept final payment through PayPal. Preferred payment methods for balance due are cash, Venmo & cashier check made to Rockadoodles which is due at time of pickup or drop off. The last week is spent doing health records for the whole litter, as well as finishing up deworming and vaccination protocol. We are very busy the last week before your puppy’s graduation. Health certificates are required for any puppy crossing state lines. Our vet charges 30.00 for this service, which will be added to your balance due if you live in a state other than Tennessee.
Your puppy will be ready to go home at the age of nine weeks old, with some exceptions for bigger litters when he/she may be held to stay with Momma a little longer.
We have several recommendations for transportation, please let us know if you need help. It is the new owners responsibility to arrange and pay for travel fees. We will not discount any puppies to cover this cost. We are happy to deliver your puppy to the Nashville airport for a fee of 50.00. If you would like to drive to pick up, we can meet you up to 1 hour with your puppy. If further, we charge .50 cents a mile, or you may also choose to drive to the farm. Puppy flight fee to carry your puppy in cabin, one way is 95.00 on Southwest and American and 125.00 on Delta. We DO NOT ship puppies via cargo.
What you can expect:
Your puppy will receive his/her first immunizations, including one Nobivac Bordetella (kennel cough), two Neopar (parvo), and a Nobivac 5-Way. Dewormers administered are four doses of Pyrantel Pamoate, a five-day round of Fenbendazole, and two treatments for coccidiosis. If your puppy stays longer, you can expect him/her to continue the vaccination schedule appropriate for his/her age, including rabies. Your gift bag will include one quart of Diamond for puppies, a blanket with mom and litter scent, chew toys, treat bag, and a collar. Your puppy will also come with a microchip. All you need to do is call the number or go to the website provided on the card in your packet to register your puppy in your name. We use the Pro ID Mini Chip. The fee for registering your puppy’s microchip is 25.00 for his/her lifetime.

We encourage our customers to choose two favorite litters, but the majority will only be welcoming one puppy to their home. We believe this gives YOUR family more options because it is hard to know which litter you will like best, when the litters are usually not born before you place your deposit. Most families are pleasantly surprised when they get a message saying it’s their turn to choose and are thrilled to see more puppies to select from than they expected! Keep an eye on the website as we have selections because the lists will change drastically, as families select their puppies and are removed from other lists. Our website is updated daily!
While it is of utmost importance for you to choose the right breeder for your family, we also desire to send our puppies home with the very best committed families, who will provide a wonderful home for them.
Breeding dogs with an expected positive outcome, is not an exact science. Your pup may grow to be a little bigger or smaller than our estimated weight range, or may possibly turn out a different color than we expected. We do not guarantee size or color in our health warranty. As breeders, we do our absolute best to predict all outcomes.
We are committed to keeping our breeding pairs at optimal health in order to achieve a successful, healthy litter of puppies; but, sometimes, for unknown reasons, a female fails to produce a litter or has an unusually small litter. This is why we encourage our clients to choose two favorite litters (for one deposit). You may also transfer to another list at any time for any reason, once you have placed your deposit. If you are hoping for a particular look, such as blue eyes or certain markings, there is a chance you may be waiting for over a year and sometimes up to two years. Breeding for specific requests is sometimes very difficult as we are not in control of mother nature. Once you place a deposit with us, please be as committed to us as we are committed to you. We will work our ABSOLUTE hardest to achieve the desired litter and provide your family with the puppy of your dreams!
You may Venmo deposit of 250.00 to @ashleehewitt . Please do not click on the “Purchase Protection” option near the end of the transaction. We have an excellent one-year health guarantee, so it’s not necessary (any transaction fees will be added to your bill). Tennessee sales tax (9.75%) will be added to all sales. Final payments can be made by Venmo, cash or cashier’s check to Rockadoodles.
